Welcome to the website of Arts, Science and Commerce College, Kolhar. I am proud to tell you that Arts, Science and Commerce College, Kolhar is one of the premier constituent college of Loknete Dr. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil (Padmabhushan Awardee) Pravara Rural Education Society, Pravaranagar. Pravara Rural Education Society, Pravaranagar was established in 1964 by Late Padamshri Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil, a pioneer of the first Cooperative Sugar factory in Asia. Late Padamshri Vikhe Patil was an institution by himself. He gave importance to women emancipation, higher education in non-technical, technical and medical streams, as a need base education. The Government of India honoured him ‘Padmashri’ on 27th April 1961.

His Successor Late Dr. Balasabeb Vikhe Patil (Padmabhushan Awardee ), former Union Minister, Government of India also intensively worked to keep progress and development of rural areas. Under his guidance and vision Arts, Science and Commerce College, Kolhar was established in 1999 with 57 students. Now there are more than 800 students studying in various faculties at UG and PG level. The college is permanently affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and aided by the Government of Maharashtra. It is also recognized by UGC under sections 2(f) & 12(B). The college offers Bachelor degree in Arts, Science and Commerce courses at UG level and Master degree in commerce and Analytical Chemistry at PG level. We aim to generate knowledge, encourage critical thinking and impart relevant skills by offering skill-oriented courses. The college campus is scattered over 9.5 acres having adequate infrastructural facilities like digital classrooms, well equipped laboratories, 200 mtrs. running track, facilitates for indoor and outdoor games, Gymkhana, and 2 acres of Botanical Garden. The college has maintained a right blend of quality education and excellence in the field of sports, extracurricular activities, campus cleaning and plantation of different varieties of medicinal, endangered plants.

The college is committed to excel in teaching-learning, training and placement, capacity-building, entrepreneurship development, scholarship and public service. Apart from classroom teaching, we provide facilities like seminars, workshops, career counseling, ICT teaching and guidance, extracurricular and extensive activities like NSS, and competitive exam centre for pupils’ all-round development. We have a group of fully committed and highly skilled teaching faculties, friendly and competent administrative staff, a resourceful e-library with cordial library staff to help you in every step.
